What your computer needs.
Most office computers bought in the last eight years are ready. KANITHAM keeps your books on your own computer, so it works without internet once the trial has started.

- Windows 10 or 1164-bit. Windows 7 and 8 are not supported.
- Memory
- 4 GB RAM8 GB recommended for the computer that shares the books on the LAN.
- Disk
- 400 MB freePlus room for your data and the automatic daily backups.

Installed in five steps.
Download the installer.
Click Download. The file comes from our Google Drive. If Drive says it can't scan this file for viruses (it says that for large files), click Download anyway. The file lands in your Downloads folder.
Open it, and allow Windows.
Double-click KANITHAM Setup 1.6.0.exe. If a blue window says Windows protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway. Windows shows this for software from smaller publishers; it appears only once.
Agree, choose, install.
Read the licence and click I Agree. Keep the suggested folder, or choose another, then Install. It takes about a minute, and a KANITHAM icon appears on your desktop and in the Start menu.
Upgrading from an older version? Install over it — your companies stay as they are. Take a backup first from Backup & Restore→Backup to File
First launch, online once.
Open KANITHAM while the computer is connected to the internet. Your seven-day trial is registered to this computer, and from then on KANITHAM works offline. Reinstalling does not restart the trial.
Create your company.
Enter your business name, GSTIN, address, city and pincode, and you are ready to bill. Moving from another software? Use the Import centre. Joining an office that already uses KANITHAM? Choose Connect to a KANITHAM Server — see the LAN guide.
Keep it, in three steps.
Your data from the trial stays exactly where it is. The activation key is made for your computer's Machine ID.

Send your Machine ID
In KANITHAM open Settings→Licence and tap Send on WhatsApp. It sends the Machine ID and business name to us.
Paste the key
Paste the Activation Key you receive (it starts with KNTM-) and click Activate. Done for the year.
Check the file is genuine.
Open PowerShell and run the line beside. The long code it prints must match this one exactly.
